Exception Management Module
Learn how to configure automated processes related to exceptions, as well as effectively identify, handle, and resolve exceptions in the Exception Management Module.
Table of Contents
The Exception Management module allows suppliers to view, manage, and create automated workflows for variant scenarios.
To locate this module, select the Exception Management tile on the Supplier dashboard or click the exclamation point icon in the page header.

Take Action on Exceptions
All exceptions that you can take action on are in the Manage Exceptions tab.
You can set parameters in the filter panel at the top of the screen. By default, exceptions that have been approved are not returned in the grid, but you may choose to toggle “Show Approved Exceptions” to include them.
Use the menu on the left to locate specific types of exceptions to manage. The red notification icons indicate the number of unapproved exceptions of that type you are authorized to take action on. You can also click Assignments in the top right corner of the page to view only the exceptions that have been assigned to you.
When applicable, click the Action icon to take action on an item or click the email icon to assign it to another user.

Setup Exception Rules
To configure exception rules, click the Setup tab.

For most Exceptions, you can click the person icon at the bottom right to grant View and/or Edit (Approval) access to user roles or individual users.

Tip: Don't want to use the auto-approve functionality? Set the number of business days to a high value.
Terminal Supplier Variance Exceptions
The Terminal Supplier Variance exception management tool triggers an alert when a carrier creates an invoice that deviates from the assigned terminal supplier.
When this exception is raised, a supplier can manually approve the invoice as-is or convert it to a Freight+Product invoice. Unactioned invoices will be automatically approved after the specified amount of time.
You may also grant users View and/or Edit access by clicking the add person icon at the bottom right.

eBOL Validation Check
When enabled, Titan Logistics reconciles the details of every delivery against DTN's eBOL file comparing four parameters:
- BOL number
- Terminal
- Product
- Load Date
To setup the eBOL Validation Check, first click the gear settings icon and select Preference and Feature Setting. In the list of Default settings, toggle Third Party Workflow (Enable eBOL/DTN workflow) into the ON position.

Next, navigate back to the Exception Management module and click the Setup tab. Expand the Delivery Reconciliation section of the menu and select Exceptions and eBOL Validation Check.

Check the box in the top left corner to enable the feature. You must also designate an Exception Approver and indicate how long the system should wait before automatically approving unactioned invoices. You may also grant users View and/or Edit access by clicking the add person icon at the bottom right.
